Caroling around Audubon

This past Friday, December 13th, the music department presented the annual Winter Choral Concert. The junior high, senior high, and ensemble choirs performed holiday classics such as, “The Lord Bless You and Keep You,” “Silent Night,” and “If You Just Believe.”  After a successful performance, it has been a tradition for over 40 years for the Senior Concert Choir to go christmas caroling into the night after the winter concert and this year was no exception. From 10pm to 7am, the choir sang at the seniors’ houses all around Audubon. The night is full of lots of food, singing, and making memories for our talented choir members.

The following day, the select ensemble choir continued the festivities by caroling at some of Audubon’s favorite teachers homes. Mr. Webb, Mrs. Harris, and Mr. Rowan all welcomed the choir with open arms, excited to share the holiday music with family and friends. These teachers, and all who gathered at their homes graciously donated to the music department, raising over $300 going towards upcoming events!

Students involved in this activity exclaim that, “I look forward to this all year and it always lives up to expectations.”-  Senior Ricky Conway. As well as 6 year choir member, Caleb Bowers who stated that, “One fun thing about it is that we get to see how much everyone has improved with their voices and performance qualities in the concert.” I’m also happy to say that this activity has always been a favorite of mine and I’m glad to have been able to participate for the past 4 years of high school.

Some upcoming events for the music department include:
