Wanthers Take On the Polar Bear Plunge!

This past Saturday, January 11, 2020, the Audubon/Collingswood swim team participated in the 2020 Polar Bear Plunge. This event is annually held in Wildwood. The mission of this organization is to raise money to provide year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health screenings to more than 26,000 athletes by the Special Olympics.

Swim team members along with family and friends took the plunge into the Atlantic ocean. Together they raised over $1,700. The team has been participating in this event for the past 5 years and have raised over $11,000 all together for the Special Olympics.

Second year member, Sarah Colon, describes that “The Polar Plunge was really fun and for a good cause, and it was better this year since the weather was nice. I definitely would do it again!” Sophomore Brenna Ruoff stated “It was awesome doing it with the team, and it was a good bonding experience for a great cause.”
