Your Definition of Love

Your Definition of Love

I grew up wondering what the real definition of love was. I went through a lot growing up which caused me to question if what I was feeling was really love. The definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection. As a young munchkin, I thought love was when you said “I love this show!” or “I’m in love with this bike!” or just something you would say to an inanimate object… Obviously I would say “I love you” to my parents, but I still didn’t know the true meaning of the words I was using. As I grew, I was put through a lot of situations that helped me find the true meaning of love. Some people like to stay away from reality, not because they are immature, but because they don’t have a lot of experience and may just be confused. The thing is, if you try to stray away from the “scary experiences,” then you may not ever find your own true definition of love. Those scary experiences will put you through multiple situations that will make you mature into a beautiful more knowledgeable human. Think of a caterpillar. They start off defenseless, and move on into a cocoon. The cocoon may seem scary but as time goes they blossom into a beautiful butterfly to live on.
