Time to Yourself

This past summer, I went on vacation to Ocean City, Maryland. On this trip, I learned a lot of things. Before leaving for vacation I was working 40+ hours a week all the while trying to balance a social life and going to the gym. I found myself mentally crashing out of exhaustion because I never made time for myself. So in turn, the goal of this trip was to focus on myself and relax. As I arrived, I found myself a little anxious because it was the first time all summer I had absolutely no commitments to fulfill. It was a little weird to say the least… My week’s getaway consisted of family time, laughs, sleep, going on the beach for hours at a time, tanning, going out with my cousins, and relaxing. Honestly, it taught me a lesson: You need to make time for yourself every once in awhile. If you don’t, you will most likely go crazy, and when I say crazy, I mean it. I experienced it! As the end approached, I found myself a little bit more zen and a lot happier. The stress eased and I was able to go back to my daily dosage of work, gym, and social life without the stress that was originally packed on my shoulders.
