Ms. Selby’s Sweet Advice

Dear Senior Class,

There are so many steps in life’s journey and you just made it to a major one. You are now graduating high school, which officially makes you an adult and that means more responsibility.

Believe it or not, you are ready for this next step. The things you earn yourself will mean the most to you. In high school and college you earn your grades. They help you to obtain the career of your dreams. Pick one that you will love doing everyday so it never seems like work.

One thing you should always remember is to save money for emergencies, whether they are happy ones or a pain in the neck. Life will send you challenges, but you are strong! You just need to remember it! Have a theme song for those tough days and enjoy all of the little things you might not normally see.

Someday you may be a parent. Your child should be your number one. Taking the time to build a block castle or sit at a tea party is priceless! Trust me, they grow up so fast. Your joy as a parent is to see your child grow into a wonderful, caring, independent adult because of you. Again…Priceless.

By the way, your significant other is a partner. You add equally to the relationship. Look for that one who will make you happy everyday!

So as you get ready for your next step in the journey of life: be brave, be eager, do your very best and take time to enjoy every little thing you can!

*when it rains-jump in puddles

*when it’s cold-build a family of snowmen, including a dog

*when a ladybug lands on your nose, consider it a gift-he chose you

*Always give hugs, even when your teenager thinks you are crazy

You are all awesome. Don’t give up when things get tough; maybe you just need to change directions. It’s ok! That is part of life and all of your experiences make you wise, and when your grandchild asks you how you became so smart, you’ll smile because you will know.

Best wishes!

Love, Mrs. Selby ๐Ÿ™‚
